Worksheets
A worksheet is a tabular representation of the attributes of selected objects which allows for simple data processing.
Worksheets can be used for:
Data in worksheets can be filtered and sorted, properties can be set and edited, and columns can be re-arranged. You can zoom in and out on a worksheet using Ctrl + mouse wheel. Since the information to be edited can also be created via formula attributes, data of different data types can centrally be edited in one worksheet. That way, you can, for instance, display and modify corresponding function data on a device worksheet.
Cells cannot be edited if their data contents were created via formula attributes which refer to more than one data object.
Updating worksheet contents on sorting and filtering already loaded data takes into account the status of the data. On changing filter criteria, a verification is done to check whether the database must be accessed to update the data.
By default, the settings of the Attribute View Configuration concerning the visibility and the write protection of attributes are effective for worksheets. Via a database key in the Database Properties/Custom Settings, you can define whether the settings of the Attribute View Configuration are to be applied for the worksheet or not.
- Configuration active in the worksheets: Standard setting (no key existing) or DisableAttributeViewForWS =0.
- Configuration not active in the worksheets: DisableAttributeViewForWS =1.
Devices can be associated with functions and usage locations. For structured devices such as relays with normally closed (NC) and normally open (NO) contacts, the sub devices do not have to have associations on their own. If you start a device worksheet on a function or a location, also their unconnected sub devices can be displayed in addition to their connected main devices. You can activate this functionality under Project properties/Designation Standards via the checkboxes Display Complete Associated Function and Display Complete Associated Location.
Once the above-mentioned project properties have been activated, the data of sub elements which are not connected to any function or location can also be displayed in unit and cable worksheets.
Configurations for worksheets are temporary unless the worksheet is saved as a template. Please read the chapter Worksheet Templates to find out more about worksheet templates.
Using the option Show Attribute Properties of the shortcut menu of a column name, you can open the attribute properties read-only.
