2. Fixed Bugs in Version 2021 SP1
- 315956 / 316541
Using the new ODBC driver in ELCAD 7.16 to export numeric cells without any cell content of the data types Integer or Real to an ODBC file, for instance Excel, the cells were not empty in the output file. In other cases, columns in the output file were not arranged correctly.
- 318019
Cancelling a PDF output by manually ending ELCAD, for instance via the Windows Task Manager, could damage the project. This caused an error message for every subsequent Compact PDF export where option “Enable Navigation and Searching” was active.
3. Updates and Enhancements in Version 2021
- 251841
So far, if you defined a filter on creating directories, terminal part lists or device part list in the list editing, this filter was only valid once for the regeneration of one list. As of this version of ELCAD, every filter you create is saved in a filter selection. That way, you can use the saved filters for every further generation of lists.
- 277838
As of this version of ELCAD, a message dialog is issued indicating if your FLEXNET license expires within the next 28 days. If the message dialog is displayed, you can define when it is to remind you again of the expiring license. You can set any value between 1 and 29 days.
- 279346
As of this version of ELCAD, you can define the background colour of write-protected data fields by yourself. That way, you can adapt the background colour to your individual Windows colour settings. To do so, enter the required RGB colour value into configuration file aucotec.ini under the following key:
[WIN_GridColors]
ReadOnlyCellsBackgroundRGB=235,235,235
- 280091
The supported file name length for PDF outputs has been increased. As of this version of ELCAD, you can use PDF files with up to 72 characters including the file extension. Additionally, the Save dialog now remains opened if the file name that you have entered is too long. Confirm the error message and shorten the file name to a maximum of 72 characters.
- 283941
Cables can again be renamed. Rename the cables in the Item Editor, either by a right-click or by pressing F2.
Moreover, as of this version of ELCAD, you can also rename the short designators of cables for projects of the project type ELCAD Studio.
- 297431
As of this version of ELCAD, batch action “Output Drawings for AUCOTECview / Mechatronic Explorer” has been renamed to “Output Drawings for EB Mobile View / Mechatronic Explorer”.
4. Fixed Bugs in version 2021
- 150787
If you used Adobe Reader to open a Compact PDF file which contained more than 50 navigable objects on a sheet and which was created by ELCAD, it was no longer possible to reset the frames. Moreover, the representation of the cursor on activating objects changed starting from the 50th object.
- 151795
So far, hyperlinks in symbol texts that you had output via “Save as/PDF” did not work, as the symbol frame overlapped the hyperlinks. The size of the object frames has been optimized. You can use the hyperlinks in Single PDF and in Compact PDF.
- 197987
So far, if you added a terminal in the Terminal Block Designer (TBD), there was no article selection available for that terminal. This bug is now fixed.
- 213229
If you had renamed main representations by changing the entries in code numbers 1, 2, 3 or 4, the secondary representation was also renamed as of ELCAD 2018. However, if these secondary representations were displayed in window symbols or forms, redundant parts of the item designations were not shortened by entries entered at code numbers 5 to 8 of the window symbols. Because of that, parts of the item designation were represented both in the secondary representation and in the superordinate window symbol.
- 252617
As of this version of ELCAD, the output window that you could call from “View/Working Area” is no longer available.
If you want to reactivate the output window for internal debugging information, enter the following key into aucotec.ini:
[Debug]
OutputWindowVisible=1
- 258541
As of this version of ELCAD, a terminal block is deleted if there exist no further terminal entries for this terminal block.
So far, if you removed all terminals of a terminal block using the Terminal Block Designer (TBD), ELCAD did not take this change into account on closing the TBD. This bug is now fixed.
- 262465
By editing the contents of code numbers 1-3 (Plant, Function, Location) in the main representation (type 5), the designations of the secondary symbols (type 6) are automatically adapted. So far, there was no comparison during this automatic adaptation with existing designations that received their designations via windows. Because of that, doubled designations could occur. This bug is now fixed.
- 272771
So far, on writing back part list data to the drawings, the designators (code numbers 1 to 8) were written into all symbols that were not yet evaluated. As of this version, ELCAD does not write back these code numbers into any symbol. This behaviour is independent of whether you have evaluated the symbols or not.
If you wish to reactivate the previous behaviour, enter the following key into file aucotec.ini:
[Automatic]
OldPartListFunction=1
- 280120
So far, you could create several users with the same login name in the User Management of a project if the capitalization differed. In that sense, “USER” and “user” were two different users. This bug is now fixed. As of this version of ELCAD, the User Management accepts the respective login name only once, independent of its capitalization.
If you open an existing project with an activated User Management created according to the previous conventions concerning login names, ELCAD makes you aware of the current conventions concerning the assignment of login names.
- 280138
The options under Project Settings/Master Data/Working Method will now again activate the functions that correspond to their descriptions.
- 280139
The new option “Empty the entries of the respective dialog lines in case of unknown part numbers on closing the symbol edit mask” was only functional if the option “Enable the creation of new parts in the device master database on closing the symbol edit mask” was also active.
- 280150 / 280164
In the Drawings object tree, the comments of selected sheets were displayed differently in the status line, depending on the placement method of the marking symbols.
Now, ELCAD represents all marking symbols that you newly place on a drawing in the same way. Moreover, as of this version of ELCAD, the maximum number of comments in the marking symbols has been increased. You can now enter up to four comments.
- 281474
In the new list element for editing data, the same action is now carried out on pressing the “enter key” and on double-clicking.
- 281575
In the list editing, the shortcut menu can now again be started by a right mouse click in any cell, i.e. in the same way as in the previous versions.
- 281757
On introducing the new list dialog in ELCAD version 2020, the cable comment was no longer visible in the Item Editor with the ELCAD Professional license. This bug is now fixed.
- 281945
You can again operate the symbol selection dialog by keyboard.
- 282250
As in previous versions, in the list editing, the cell content can now again be directly edited via a double-click if the cells are authorised for editing.
- 282317
So far, the check “Part number without quantity specification” in status list “Working Status” only checked whether a quantity specification was entered at the first part number. This check has now been extended. As of this version of ELCAD, the quantity specification is checked for all defined part numbers.
- 284032
So far, the automatic alignment of the symbol edit mask data with the device master data resulted in ELCAD deleting the variable data. This bug is now fixed.
As a precondition for the data alignment, option “Empty the entries of the respective dialog lines in case of unknown part numbers on closing the symbol edit mask” must be activated in the project options under Master Data/Working Method.
For instance, if you had entered an unknown part number, confirming the dialog did not only remove all data from the symbol edit mask, but also deleted all variable data. The data alignment reset the offset of the symbol parts. Now, the values you have entered for height and width (codes 4003, 4004) are maintained.
- 288154
As of ELCAD version 2020, on introducing the new list dialog, the additional information on which drawings a specific function was to be executed was no longer visible in a batch. This bug is now fixed. As of this version of ELCAD, you will find this additional information in a separate column next to the batch actions in the batch properties.
- 288403
If you ran a protocol via File/Export/via Protocols in ELCAD/AUCOPLAN 2020, the editor could no longer automatically open the file generated in the .asc format. This function is now available again.
- 293754
On pushing the “Detail info” button in the batch properties of the new list dialog, the buttons of the properties dialog in the background could still be operated. This could result in a program crash. This bug is now fixed.
- 297052
With ELCAD version 2019, the “Product Key” dialog was introduced. This dialog could not correctly process the user-specific license entries of file aucotec.ini. This bug is now fixed.
Now, the "Product Key" dialog also reads the user-specific license entries of file aucotec.ini, in line with parameter „-usr <UserName>“ of the ELCAD program fetch. Changes made to any licenses in the “Product Key” dialog are now also returned to the user-specific section of file aucotec.ini.
If ELCAD does not find any user-specific license entries in file aucotec.ini,
ELCAD uses the default values.
- 303224
As of this version of ELCAD, the dongle driver is no longer automatically installed by the setup. If you wish to install the dongle driver, activate option “Install Dongle Driver” in the “Custom Setup” dialog of the standard installation. This option is only available if you have not already installed a dongle driver.
