Dear ELCAD users,
this file contains important information about the ELCAD/AUCOPLAN version 2020.
1. Installation of ELCAD/AUCOPLAN 2020
2. Fixed Bugs in version 2020
3. Special information for operation under Windows 10
1. Installation of ELCAD/AUCOPLAN 2020
You need administrator rights to install ELCAD/AUCOPLAN 2018. ELCAD/AUCOPLAN installs the files in different system folders in accordance with the Microsoft specifications. The installation of ELCAD/AUCOPLAN 2020 uses the following folders.
Programs:
%PROGRAMFILES%
C:\Program Files\AUCOTEC\ELCAD 7150
(32 bit systems)
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\AUCOTEC\ELCAD 7150
(64 bit systems)
User environment (aucotec.ini etc.):
%LocalAppData%
C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\aucotec\ELCAD 2020\<language identification>
Sample data such as projects, symbols, translate files etc.:
C:\Users\Public\AUCOTEC\ELCAD 2020\<language identification>
2. Fixed Bugs in version 2020
- 271031 / 248616
Automatically installing ELCAD/AUCOPLAN via an administrator tool such as SCCM caused the installation to abort.
- 249555 / 249554
If, on using the FlexNet licensing system, all available licenses are already in use, or if the license server is not available, the “Product key” dialog is automatically displayed on starting ELCAD/AUCOPLAN. If this behavior is not desired, you can deactivate this function by means of the following switch in file Aucotec.ini:
[System]
DontOpenLicenseDialogStartup=1
- 254342 / 256962
The commands mx and my caused a program crash if, for instance, the following parameters were entered:
mx(project path,project name,level1,level2,level3,level4,level5,X1=value,X2=value)
my(project path,project name,level1,level2,level3,level4,level5,Y1=value,Y2=value)
Now, the function is again executed correctly.
- 248095 / 258747
If, on using the FlexNet licensing system, the name of the license server is entered incorrectly, or if the license server is not available, the “Product key” dialog is automatically displayed on starting ELCAD/AUCOPLAN. If the “Protocol” button was then pushed, a crash occurred.
- 232621 / 232622
If “On editing non-existent articles, empty the related symbol dialogs” was checked in the Working Method of Master Data menu of the project option settings, the respective technical attributes were emptied in ELCAD and AUCOPLAN projects if an invalid part number was entered into a symbol. Emptying the respective technical attributes now also works in ELCAD STUDIO projects.
- 232632 / 232634
If the status list “Working Status” is to be recreated, this check is now also carried out if only article number options are selected for the part numbers.
- 232641 / 231606
On repeatedly renaming symbols in a library, some of these symbols were no longer displayed.
- 239915 / 239913
Updating the user selection list for the first time in a project via a right mouse click on the drawings tree did not work in ELCAD Version 2019.
- 243432 / 243433
On generating cables, an error occurred if Operation & Result rules were defined for cables and the structure of the cable table did not contain the code number 365.
- 213076
If, on using function Extras/Services/EPL Write, users entered a path with a length of more than 51 characters, the export function crashed.
- 243442
For code number 150 (Designation), different field lengths were specified in the cable master data and in the cable list. Entries in the cable master data with more than 32 characters were therefore displayed in a shortened form in the cable list. Because of that, information was lost and it was no longer ensured that the designation was unique.
- 268525
If only the terminals were reconstructed in a project, the internal error table of the project was erroneously deleted and not created anew. Because of that, evaluation functions were not able to add any entries to the error list.
- 196580 / 196749
If drawings were renamed or moved in the drawing tree, the drawings had to be reset and re-evaluated. During that process, it was possible that core numbers, terminal numbers or contact numbers were assigned differently than when they were assigned originally.
- 231235
If DWG/DXF files were read in that contained texts with a length of more than 255 characters, the converter that read in the data crashed.
- 267053
On using the function “Extras/Services/Prepare Project Archiving”, the project setting values were not used if no entries were made under “New Combination File“.
If the variable “$project” was used alternatively as the designation of the combination file to use the project name, the function was not executed.
- 260306
In the project-specific settings concerning the uniqueness of item designations via designation blocks, a table was missing in projects of the type AUCOPLAN. In that table, a uniqueness rule that differed from the standard could be defined for a maximum of 100 device groups.
- 227962
If core numberings were executed more than once in a project, a “start value per sheet” that differed from 1 was not taken into account as of the second execution. Gaps in the numbering were also not filled as of the second execution.
- 221250
If connector diagrams were newly created as terminal block diagram variants, the code numbers 1-3 of the terminal block were not transferred into the form sheet of the connector diagrams.
- 179295
Not all views of the Item Editor displayed graphically whether terminal block diagrams or connector diagrams existed for a specific terminal block. While the standard view displayed icons for the terminal block diagrams and the connector diagrams in the tree, these icons were not displayed in every case when the view was changed.
- 248130
On executing a PDF output of drawings containing many compressed images, ELCAD crashed if it was not possible to allocate sufficient memory.
- 253477
On creating projects via Project New / with Template, filter definitions for regenerating lists were not taken over entirely from the template project if they had more than 80 characters.
- 232309
If the function “Prepare Archiving” is executed repeatedly on a project, ELCAD automatically displays the protocol file. In that file, an error was listed indicating that a symbol library already existed in the project, even if users had previously defined in the configuration that the libraries already existing in the project were to be saved. This information is now only registered in the protocol file as a note.
3. Special information for operation under Windows 10
195626
On operating ELCAD/AUCOPLAN under Windows 10, build 1703 or higher, the screen refresh of the ELCAD toolbars was slow in combination with certain graphics cards. There are two alternatives to solve this issue.
- Adjustment of the animation settings in Windows
One alternative to speed up the display build-up is to deactivate the setting "Play animations in Windows".
You will find this Windows setting under "Windows settings/Ease of access/Other options/Play animations in Windows".
- Adjustment of the ELCAD settings in the file aucotec.ini
Another alternative is to change the display style of the ELCAD toolbars in the file aucotec.ini. In doing so, a "flat" representation will be selected.
To implement this adjustment, change the following switch in the configuration file aucotec.ini:
[WIN_Graphik]
Theme=1
