1. Installation of ELCAD/AUCOPLAN 2018
You need administrator rights to install ELCAD/AUCOPLAN 2018. ELCAD/AUCOPLAN installs the files in different system folders in accordance with the Microsoft specifications. The installation of ELCAD/AUCOPLAN 2018 uses the following folders. Please note that the path specifications of the user environment and the sample data has been changed as compared to version 7.12!

If the same code number exists multiple times in a symbol, ELCAD/AUCOPLAN 2018 will now also remember the row number of the code number in the symbol that has been used for a transfer. If the transfer action is then called again, the last row number used will be offered as presetting. This extension is effective for "Editing with transfer" and "Editing with transfer/increment".

By means of a switch in the configuration file aucotec.ini, you may select whether a message or an acoustic alert shall be issued if a manually assigned terminal number has been allocated twice.

Reading in DXF/DWG files led to an error message "[3094] 'DXF code number missing'", if there was no ELCAD version 7.10 or older installed on the computer.

Renaming main representations by editing type 5 symbols in drawing editing mode only worked if the option “Add New Part Numbers to Database after Editing Symbols” was set as working method for the master data. Now it works again, independently from this setting.

If the batch action “Replace Symbol Texts and Free Texts” was modified within an existing batch, an error message was displayed. Furthermore, the values in the options dialog were not pre-set as they were in the batch.

Terminal numbers became unreadable in the terminal editor by means of the cursor marking. A similar behaviour appeared when selecting translate texts or line types.

If content of main representation symbols was changed from within other main representation symbols by using the function “Edit With Transfer”, the status was set to “Manually”, even if code numbers were changed, which were not relevant for the item designation or the assignment of secondary representations.
Now main representations keep their status, if content is transferred, which neither changes the item designation nor the assignment of secondary representations.

If the code numbers 4530..4532 are changed in the symbol design, these changes will now also be displayed updated in the drawing.

If data content was set up by means of translate references which exceeded a length of 138 characters during the conversion to text contents, a program crash occurred if the data was exported via the ODBC interface with a quantity count (formats intern1+2). Exports without a quantity count were not affected.

Editing boundary frames via the item tree was not possible in the "separated representation", as the menu item was not available. In the "common representation," this menu item was available.

If editing cores during drawing editing caused status changes in the cable data, these changes only became effective on saving and re-opening the sheet. Thus, the cable state, e.g. the number of assigned and unassigned cores, was not up to date if several changes were carried out on one sheet.
In ELCAD/AUCOPLAN 2018, all cores of the opened drawing will immediately be updated as soon as the status of the related cable changes.

The target pins of cores were not determined correctly via the batch action Create Destinations if one of the destinations was connected via a connector symbol or a potential. This issue has now been solved.

In version 7.12.0, a maximum of 280 revision designators were correctly offered for selection. In ELCAD/AUCOPLAN 2018, the total number of 1500 revision designators is usable again.

In ELCAD SE, PDF outputs could not be activated despite a valid license. This bug is now fixed.

If comments were added to status lists, these comments were not transferred to new projects created via "New Project with template."
Moreover, on opening a project, a check will now be carried out to verify whether all status lists are available. If this is not the case, the missing lists will automatically be created, so that they will be available directly in the main menu for "Update Lists" without the need to open the list editing beforehand.

On converting projects of the version state 7.0.1, an error message occurred if the drawing management did not have the expected structure.

On converting projects of the version state 7.7.0, composed item designations were missing at symbols in drawings if the composed text contained a text with the property "Invisible" set. In version 7.7.0, these items were still displayed correctly.
The reason for this issue is a convention that was implemented upon user request starting from version 7.7.1:
If an individual text that is also used in a composed text contains the property "Invisible", the composed text will also get this property automatically.
If you do not want to use this new convention, you may reactivate the old convention in the configuration file aucotec.ini in ELCAD/AUCOPLAN 2018:

5. Special information for operation under Windows 10

On operating ELCAD/AUCOPLAN under Windows 10, build 1703 or higher, the screen refresh of the ELCAD toolbars was slow in combination with certain graphics cards. There are two alternatives to solve this issue.
- Adjustment of the animation settings in Windows
One alternative to speed up the display build-up is to deactivate the setting "Play animations in Windows".
You will find this Windows setting under "Windows settings/Ease of access/Other options/Play animations in Windows."
- Adjustment of the ELCAD settings in the file aucotec.ini
The second alternative is to change the display style of the ELCAD toolbars in the file aucotec.ini. In doing so, a "flat" representation will be selected.
To implement this adjustment, change the following switch in the configuration file aucotec.ini:
