You need administrator rights to change this registry setting.Depending on the measurement system selected in the Regional and Language Options on your computer, numbers typed into the boxes for Depth, Height, and Width, are interpreted as mm (Metric) or inches (U.S.). Editing the registry allows you to define another unit as the default unit.
To define the default unit
Quit Engineering Base.
Start Registry Editor.
Look for the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\AUCOTEC\Engineering Base\<EB version>\Client\Settings key.
Modify the DefaultUnit to set the value data to the required unit (e.g. cm).
Start Engineering Base.
