Shapes can only be scaled in diagrams of the smart diagram types P&I diagram, system control diagram or process flow diagram. Scaling allows you to change the size of shapes on the diagram quickly.
Mark a shape on a sheet opened in Visio. On selecting the shape, it will be displayed with a pink frame and 8 scaling points that you can use to change the shape size as needed.
You can scale
· electrical and non-electrical shapes of devices.
· the main shape in a dynamic area. Sub symbols cannot be scaled.
· Frames can always be scaled.
If a scaled shape is replaced via the Update Shapes assistant, the newly placed shape is placed on the sheet enlarged by the same factor, so that all connections are maintained.
