6.1           Release for MS Visio 2013 (EB 6.6.1)

From the Engineering Base Version 6.6.1 onwards, MS Visio 2013 is supported if it is already installed on the computer. If several Visio versions are installed in parallel, Engineering Base uses the active version, which was started last.

Important notes for the use of Visio 2013:

·            When using Visio 2010, comments can be placed at any position on a sheet with the menu item Review and the command New Comment. In contrast, when using Visio 2013, comments are always assigned to the selected shape. Hereby the comments are automatically shifted with the shape. As a result, all comments placed in Visio 2010 are shifted to the upper left corner automatically when opening existing drawings with comments in Visio 2013.

·            When outputting thin lines and texts into PDF, Visio 2013 outputs all lines with a width of less than 1 point as lines with a rounded line width of approximately 0.5 points. In cases where plenty of thin lines are shown, the output might look a little bit confusing.

·            When you want to use Visio together with Citrix or XenApp clients, it is not recommended to use Visio 2013. By default, these clients deactivate the Visio option Activate Live Preview to obtain a better performance. That results, for instance, in only showing a frame when you shift shapes. The option to disable this behavior by means of the registry key UserPreferencesMask, used with Visio 2010, does not take effect with Visio 2013.
